FRIDAY April 18, 2008  7-10 pm  Civil War Era Historical Ball sponsored by the Student Apparel Design Association of Michigan State University. FRIDAY July 18, 2008 8-10 pm Ruffwater hosts the Friday Night Barndance at the Evart Summer Funfest. This is the BIG Original Dulcimer Players Club gathering just west of Clare. Glen calls the dances and Ruffwater and Friends play the music. Come have fun in an air conditioned dance hall. Old time squares and contra dances.  No partners required but bring one if you can. SATURDAY August 23, 2008 7-10 pm Glen instructs and leads the dancing while Ruffwater plays the vintage music for the Jackson Cascades Civil War ball. This is the "granddady" of re-enacted Civil War Balls. 250-300 people dancing in Civil War attire in the fresh open air in a tree-lined meadow. Perimeter lighting and flower-adorned arbor entrance sets the mood. Dances historically correct for the Civil War era. Jackson Cascades Park, Jackson, Michigan. FRIDAY September 19 through SUNDAY September 21, 2008  Friday 6 pm through Sunday 3 pm is the very popular Michigan Dance Heritage Fall Dance Camp at Camp Cavell in Lexington, Michigan. Ruffwater members Glen and Judi Morningstar are on staff presenting dance workshops and music with many of Michigan's finest.
